Saurabh Shivakumar

Saurabh Shivakumar is a composer, performer, and guitarist working across contemporary, improvised, and electronic music. He is completing his MMus in Composition at the Royal Academy of Music and will begin his PhD there in September 2026. His practice centres on embodied listening, working with electronics and building instruments, performer agency, and the intersection of form and improvisation. He has composed for ensembles such as The Hermes Experiment, Riot Ensemble and New London Chamber Choir.

Saurabh has had the privelage to perform at occasions and festivals such as ‘Music We’d Like to Hear’ and 840 series, as well as being a Southbank Centre Future Artist in 2025. As a performer he is one half of the improvised/electronic music duo ‘Red on Gold’ alongside Serbian-Swiss singer and electronic musician Anastasija Stanojevic and is a member of contemporary music group, [flux].
