Yiannis Katsaris

Yiannis started as Musarc’s ‘in-house’ photographer in October 2010 and is here to document our work, collaboration with Jessica and hopefully Musarc’s future too. After finishing his BA in Photography in TEI of Athens, Greece, he moved to Italy where he spent two years working in advertising. In 2005 he moved to London to complete his MA in Photographic Journalism in the university of Westminster on a Greek state scholarship. His work is always about people with an emphasis in portraiture, social documentary and theatre. With his photography Yiannis aims to address universal issues that affect us all: culture, family, identity, sexuality and how we deal with them. Recently he started exploring different dimensions of the medium of photography through a more contrived imagery. Yiannis works regularly with UK and Greek publications and theatre companies.
His work has appeared in publications such as Evenining Standard, Time Out, Wired, Insurance Times, Scan Magazine, Bizzare Magazine, Glass Magazine in the UK and Highlights, Epsilon, Epiloges, Vimagkazino in Greece. His is the Greek’s SOUL Magazine correspondent in London. Other collaborations include the Greek Embassy in London, Foolish People theatre group and the Theatre Lab Company. Production companies Red Sparrow, 10am Ltd and Endemol UK. Yiannis has exhibited his work at the Reading Room Gallery, Black’s Members Club and the Hellenic Centre.
